Registered Foreign Lawyer (Malaysia)

Kate specialises in corporate, M&A and commercial transactions. She was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate and Solicitor in the High Court of Malaya (Malaysia) in January 2022 upon completion of her pupillage.

She graduated with an LL.B (Hons) from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom in 2019. She then completed her Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) with specialisation in Fraud Law and Company Law, and LLM in Company Law at City, University London.

Subsequently, she was called to the English Bar as a Barrister-at-Law in 2021 and is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.

Kate is native in English and Malay, and also speaks Cantonese, French and Mandarin.

Mergers & Acquisitions

  • Advised on several cross-border M&A transactions for companies in food production and manufacturing industries, and social media agencies
  • Advised on and assisted in multiple M&A transactions, unincorporated joint ventures, and joint venture arrangements for companies with principal activities such as billboard and media advertising, business management consultancy services, hotel and restaurants, education, retail services and gambling licensee

Initial Public Offering (IPO)

  • Advised on and assisted in six (6) IPO exercises for companies with diverse principal activities such as property development, events’ organisation, and freight forwarding & logistics services into the Main Market, ACE Market and LEAP Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad (“Bursa Malaysia”), and the Main Board of Singapore Exchange Limited respectively including the coordination of foreign legal due diligence
  • Advised companies listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia for its various corporate exercises, including acquisition of land, diversification of business, shares issuance and share capital reduction

Corporate Advisory

  • Provided corporate advisory services in respect to compliance with amongst others, the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007, Companies Act 2016 and Contracts Act 1950 for a Malaysian incorporated company held by a Liechtenstein based company
